Sau-Sea, Lukas Wipe Up Suit Over Spread's Added Eggs

Law360, New York (January 12, 2012, 6:36 PM EST) -- New York-based seafood-spread maker Sau-Sea Foods Inc. settled its breach of contract suit against packer Lukas Foods Inc. on Wednesday, wrapping up allegations that Lukas put eggs into Sau-Sea spreads without permission and entangled the plaintiff in a damaging recall.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed in the notice that Lukas Foods filed in Maine federal court. A settlement will be finalized by Feb. 10, at which point the parties will seek a stipulation of dismissal with prejudice and without costs, according to the notice....
