EU Drops Dumping Probe On US Vinyl Acetate

Law360, New York (January 12, 2012, 6:08 PM EST) -- The European Union on Thursday nixed provisional dumping duties of up to 13.8 percent on vinyl acetate made by U.S. producers including The Dow Chemical Co. after the U.K.'s Ineos Oxide Ltd. dropped its complaint over the imports.

The European Commission closed its investigation into whether imports of the chemical — which is used to make paints, adhesives, coatings, textile finishes and other materials — were being sold in the bloc below market rates, according to a notice in the EU's Official Journal.
