John Edwards Case Delayed Due To Heart Condition

Law360, New York (January 13, 2012, 8:28 PM EST) -- The trial of former presidential candidate John Edwards over accusations that he used nearly $1 million in allegedly unlawful campaign donations to mask an affair will be postponed until March because Edwards has a heart condition, a North Carolina federal judge said Friday.

U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Eagles cited the ailment, which had been disclosed in sealed court papers, in open court when she granted Edwards' motion to delay the trial, which was scheduled to begin Jan. 30. The earliest date the trial will now...
