IDB Launches $30M Green Energy Fund For Latin America

Law360, New York (January 13, 2012, 3:38 PM EST) -- The Inter-American Development Bank has approved a $30 million loan for a new fund designed to boost the private sector's role in developing clean technologies and renewable energy in Latin America, the bank announced Friday.

The loan for the Emerging Energy Latin America Fund II is meant to help companies in the region fulfill a projected 75 percent increase in energy demand by 2030, with renewable energy possibly accounting for half that demand.
