Mettiki Coal Vows To Clean Up Act

Law360 (July 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Coal mining company Mettiki has agreed to curb emissions and pay a $150,000 fine to settle allegations it violated state air pollution laws.

The agreement, which also requires Mettiki to improve its pollution controls, was formalized in a consent decree filed jointly by Maryland's Department of the Environment and the Office of the Attorney General Wednesday.
