EU Pushes Back Decision On Suedzucker, ED&F Man Deal

Law360, New York (January 18, 2012, 2:43 PM EST) -- The European Commission on Wednesday extended the deadline for its decision on a $255 million bid by Europe’s largest sugar and molasses producer Suedzucker AG to acquire control over ED&F Man, the world’s second-largest sugar trader.

The commission announced in November that it had opened an in-depth antitrust investigation into the proposed deal. It originally was due to reach a decision by March 23.
