Indiana Dems Fined For Balking At Right-To-Work Bill

Law360, New York (January 18, 2012, 7:30 PM EST) -- Indiana House Republicans on Wednesday fined their Democratic counterparts opposing a state right-to-work bill that could potentially limit unions, after the Democrats failed to attend a session that day to decide on an amendment to the bill.

Democratic lawmakers will each be fined $1,000 for each day they are intentionally absent from the sessions until they attend them, according to the Republicans’ motion to compel and fine.
