Methanex Inks 10-Year Gas Deal For Restarted Plant

Law360, New York (January 18, 2012, 7:47 PM EST) -- Methanol supplier Methanex Corp. has signed a 10-year agreement with a Todd Corp. subsidiary that will supply natural gas for a methanol plant Methanex plans to restart at its Motunui site in New Zealand, the companies announced Tuesday.

The New Zealand-based private energy company Todd Energy will supply up to half of the 1.5 million tons of annual capacity of natural gas at the Motunui site, which plans to begin production in July. The plant, which has been idle since 2004, is expected to add up...
