Fewer Attys Worked Part Time In 2011: Report

Law360, New York (January 19, 2012, 6:33 PM EST) -- At a time when the struggling economy has turned many Americans into part-time workers, being an attorney remains a full-time gig, perhaps more so than ever before, according to a report released Thursday.

Only 6.2 percent of lawyers at U.S. firms worked part-time in 2011, according to a report issued by the National Association for Law Placement Inc. That figure is actually down from 6.4 percent in 2010, the first time the number has decreased since NALP began compiling the figures in 1994.
