Kia Recalls 145K Optimas, Rondos Over Airbag Defect

Law360, New York (January 20, 2012, 6:29 PM EST) -- Kia Motors America Inc. is recalling more than 145,700 Optimas and Rondos after discovering a defect that could prevent the driver's airbag from deploying during an accident, a federal regulator said Friday.

The recall impacts more than 95,500 model years 2006 through 2008 Kia Optima sedans and nearly 50,200 model years 2007 and 2008 Kia Rondo wagons, according to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration.
