Epson, Ninestar Call Truce In Ink Cartridge Patent War

Law360, New York (January 23, 2012, 4:59 PM EST) -- Seiko Epson Corp. and Ninestar Technology Co. Ltd. have settled ongoing litigation alleging Ninestar infringed Epson's patents covering ink cartridge technology currently pending in Oregon federal court and the U.S. International Trade Commission, the companies announced Monday.

The settlement will end all civil litigation currently pending between the companies and their subsidiaries over Ninestar's new and remanufactured ink cartridges, which Epson alleged infringed its patented printer technology, and the bulk of the proceedings before the ITC.
