EU Bulks Up Syria Sanctions List Due To Violence

Law360, New York (January 23, 2012, 7:13 PM EST) -- Pointing to “unacceptable repression” against the Syrian people, the European Union bolstered its restrictive measures against the embattled Syrian regime Monday, adding nearly two dozen people and eight other entities to a list of parties subject to sanctions.

The European Council said that because of repression against the Syrian people, it was reinforcing the EU's restrictive measures against those allegedly responsible.
