AEP Unit Buys 360 MW Of Wind Power To Meet Court Order

Law360, New York (January 25, 2012, 7:05 PM EST) -- A subsidiary of American Electric Power Co. has signed long-term power purchase agreements for 359 megawatts of wind energy to comply with a December court settlement over a coal-fired plant in Arkansas, the company said Wednesday.

The deals, executed by AEP subsidiary Southwestern Electric Power Co., are for projects owned by Apex Wind Energy Holdings LLC, BP Wind Energy and NextEra Energy Resources LLC, the nation's biggest holder of wind power.
