IGP Sells Manufacturing Business To Ametek For $175M

Law360, New York (January 26, 2012, 4:08 PM EST) -- Process instrument manufacturer Ametek Inc. has acquired equipment maker O'Brien Corp. from private equity firm Industrial Growth Partners for about $175 million, Ametek announced Thursday.

O'Brien, which manufactures products used in oil and gas production, refining, petrochemical processing, power generation, pharmaceutical manufacturing and semiconductor fabrication, has joined Ametek's electronic instruments division, which sells monitoring, testing and display instruments to industries including aerospace and power production.
