Trouble Looms For Retail Sector In 2012

Law360, New York (January 31, 2012, 9:42 PM EST) -- With consumer confidence low and jobless rates high, the retail sector topped the list of industries most likely to face financial distress in the coming year, according to two new surveys of bankruptcy and restructuring professionals.

About 35 percent of the 150 lawyers and other professionals surveyed by Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP said they thought companies in the retail sector would struggle to stay alive in 2012, according to the firm's restructuring outlook survey released Tuesday.
