Senate To Vote On Insider Trading Ban For Lawmakers

Law360, New York (January 26, 2012, 7:07 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate is set to vote as early as next week on a bill that would bar members of Congress from trading on inside securities information gleaned from the legislative process, a key backer of the bill said Thursday.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., said on her Twitter feed that the full Senate would take up the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act of 2012, after the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs approved the bill in December.
