EC Proceeds With Antitrust Probe Of French Drug Co.

Law360, New York (January 27, 2012, 2:04 PM EST) -- The European Commission has dropped its claims that Servier SAS provided false and misleading information during an investigation, but will continue its probe of whether the French pharmaceutical company reached anti-competitive deals with generic-drug makers, the regulator said Friday.

The European Union's antitrust watchdog decided to close its investigation of whether Servier gave misleading and incorrect information to the commission's 2008 sector-wide inquiry after the company challenged the statement of objections issued in 2010.
