ACE Group Unit Must Split Costs Of FEMA Trailer Fire

Law360, New York (January 30, 2012, 2:43 PM EST) -- ACE Group affiliate Westchester Fire Insurance Co. is on the hook for half the costs of a deadly fire that broke out in a FEMA trailer after Hurricane Katrina, a Louisiana federal judge ruled Friday.

Plaintiff Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co. and Westchester were solitary obligors, or jointly liable, for the costs, U.S. District Judge Sarah S. Vance said in her order granting partial summary judgment to Liberty Mutual.
