Obama Calls US, Georgia Free Trade Deal A Possibility

Law360, New York (January 30, 2012, 8:07 PM EST) -- President Barack Obama said Monday that the U.S. plans to explore the possibility of a free trade agreement with Georgia and that it would support the country's aspirations to join NATO.

Speaking after his meeting with Georgia's president Mikheil Saakashvili, Obama said the leaders had agreed to a high-level dialog between the two countries about how to strengthen trade relations, including “the possibility of a free trade agreement," according to a transcript of the president’s remarks published on the White House website.
