FMLA Amendments To Expand Coverage For Military Families

Law360, New York (January 30, 2012, 7:48 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Labor is proposing a set of amendments to the Family and Medical Leave Act designed to expand the law to provide greater coverage for military service members' families, the agency's head announced Monday.

Labor Secretary Hilda Solis said that her department is issuing a notice of proposed rulemaking designed to expand the FMLA's provisions of unpaid medical leave to military families and airline flight crew employees.
