EPA Unveils Tougher Discharge Permits For Arctic Drilling

Law360, New York (January 31, 2012, 3:53 PM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Monday proposed stricter environmental monitoring requirements under two draft wastewater discharge permits for oil and gas exploration in Alaska's Beaufort and Chukchi seas.

The permits place limits and conditions on the types and amounts of pollution that companies can discharge in wastewater during oil and gas exploration activities.
