McAndrews Lays Off 30 Employees In 1st Major Downsizing

Law360, New York (January 31, 2012, 9:48 PM EST) -- Chicago-based intellectual property and technology law firm McAndrews Held & Malloy Ltd. has laid off 30 employees in January, the first staff reduction of its 24 years in operation and the result of a lingering economic downturn, the firm said Tuesday.

According to McAndrews, four attorneys, three patent agents and 23 administrative personnel lost their jobs Jan. 19, despite the firm making "every attempt" to avoid the layoffs.
