Target Settles Logo Trademark Suit With Canadian Cos.

Law360, New York (February 1, 2012, 3:32 PM EST) -- Target Corp., which plans to launch its stores in Canada in 2013, settled a lawsuit with three Canadian companies Wednesday over the use of the trademarked Target logo.

Fairweather Ltd. and its affiliates International Clothiers and Les Ailes de la Mode currently operate stores in Canada featuring signs with the name “Target Apparel” in red with the Canadian maple leaf inscribed in a circle, but will stop using the Target mark by Jan. 31, 2013, Target said in a statement Wednesday.
