EPA Takes Aim At ChemCentral Over Explosion

Law360, New York (July 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has filed a civil complaint against ChemCentral Midwest Corp., alleging that violations of environmental and public health laws led to an explosion and fire that destroyed the company's Kansas City, Mo. facility.

The complaint, filed Monday with the EPA's regional administrator in Kansas City, Kan., said that ChemCentral had committed violations of the federal Clean Air Act and the federal Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act, causing the Feb. 7 disaster.
