Jury Invalidates eSpeed Patent In Bond-Market Suit

Law360, New York (February 23, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a blow to bond dealer Cantor Fitzgerald, a Delaware jury has found that eSpeed Inc.’s patent on electronic bond-trading technology is invalid.

A jury in the U.S. District Court for the District Of Delaware, which has been hearing the patent infringement claim for the last two weeks, found that the eSpeed's patent is invalid because the company “failed to provide adequate written description” of the technology.
