Legal Industry Adds 1K Jobs After Year-End Decline

Law360, New York (February 3, 2012, 6:06 PM EST) -- After a dip in new legal service jobs last month, the industry experienced a small bounce in January with the addition of 1,000 jobs, according to a U.S. Department of Labor report released Friday.

The bump to make the total number of legal service positions 1,116,600 falls in line with what consultants have predicted would be a stagnant year for the legal industry. The latest numbers put the industry back almost exactly where it was a year ago, with about 100 jobs fewer than in January...
