Nanotechnology Stays Off Label: FDA Report

Law360, New York (July 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said on Wednesday that products made with nanotechnology don't need special labels or tailored regulations—at least not yet.

The report released by the agency's Nanotechnology Task Force recommended that the agency consider establishing a framework to address the potential risks and benefits of products using materials and devices a million times smaller than the head of a pin, which the report says could potentially be used in most product categories regulated by the FDA.
