DOJ, McDermott Call Quits On Hospital Merger FOIA Suit
By Lana Birbrair (February 3, 2012, 9:26 PM EST) -- McDermott Will & Emery LLP and the U.S. Department of Justice agreed Friday to dismiss a Freedom of Information Act suit in Washington federal court seeking to force the agency to turn over records in connection with an antitrust investigation of a proposed merger between two Illinois hospital systems.
U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell signed off on a joint stipulation of dismissal, with each side bearing its own attorneys' fees and costs. Attorneys for the parties were not immediately available Friday to comment on the terms of the dismissal.
