Fla. Insurance Execs Can't Dodge $20M Fraud Charges

Law360, New York (February 6, 2012, 3:55 PM EST) -- A Florida federal judge refused on Monday to throw out a grand jury indictment charging four Vanguard Fire and Casualty Co. executives with defrauding a state insurance bailout fund of $20 million.

U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle said in his order that the charges were not barred by any statute of limitations, nor did they fail to allege a violation of fraud, as the defendants had argued they did in their motions to dismiss the grand jury’s insurance fraud and conspiracy charges.
