ABA Adopts Model Law For Preserving Electronic Docs

Law360, New York (February 6, 2012, 6:59 PM EST) -- The American Bar Association House of Delegates on Monday passed a resolution approving a model law that would encourage states to adopt technologies to guarantee the authentication, preservation and accessibility of electronic records of state cases and laws.

During a midyear meeting in New Orleans, the delegates passed Resolution 102B by a voice vote, supporting the Uniform Electronic Legal Material Act, which calls for but does not specify the technologies that would be used to preserve legal documents, in order to keep up with technological innovations...
