DOE Secretary Chu Threatened With Congressional Subpoena

Law360, New York (February 6, 2012, 6:46 PM EST) -- U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu was threatened last week with a subpoena by U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., who said Chu has 60 days to testify before the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Committee Chair Issa told Chu in a letter dated Thursday that the committee is imposing the deadline so it can get his testimony on the department’s stimulus and green-energy spending programs.
