Loss Adjuster Can't Snuff Out Whirlpool's Fire Defense Suit

Law360, New York (February 7, 2012, 1:40 PM EST) -- A loss adjuster failed Monday to toss Whirlpool Corp.'s claim in Michigan federal court that it falsely promised Whirlpool that a Chinese insurer would defend the company in a suit over a fire allegedly caused by a defective air conditioner.

U.S. District Judge Robert J. Jonker denied a motion from Cunningham Lindsey Inc. for dismissal or summary judgment of Whirlpool's negligent misrepresentation claim.
