EU Makes Final Argument In Airbus Case

Law360, New York (July 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In its final argument before a crucial World Trade Organization ruling in the long-running dispute over subsidies to aircraft makers Boeing Co. and Airbus, the European Union refuted U.S. claims that it had illegally funded Airbus' development programs.

EU representatives said on Thursday that aid given to Airbus over the past four years was not intended to give the company an advantage over its American rival, and that the funding cannot be classified as illegal subsidies.
