Alliance Plans 79-Mile Gas Pipeline To Cut Flaring

Law360, New York (February 8, 2012, 1:28 PM EST) -- Alliance Pipeline LP filed a notice with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Tuesday for a 79-mile pipeline in North Dakota to capture natural gas that would otherwise be flared, or burned off, during drilling at a Midwestern oil field.

The Tioga Lateral pipeline will bring gas from the Bakken shale, the oil- and gas-rich expanse straddling North Dakota and Montana, to the Alliance mainline in North Dakota, where it will be shipped to a new Chicago market hub. Capital costs are expected to top $141...
