Canada Signs Uranium Deal To Tap Chinese Nuke Power Market

Law360, San Diego (February 9, 2012, 5:35 PM EST) -- Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Thursday the country had struck a deal with China that makes way for increased exports of Canadian uranium to the world’s fastest-growing market for nuclear power.

The agreement supplements a 1994 deal between the two countries for the cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy. Representatives from both countries plan to finalize the agreement within the next few months.
