Caterpillar Doesn’t Dig Barriers For Remanufactured Goods

Law360, New York (February 13, 2012, 7:56 PM EST) -- Caterpillar Inc. filed a brief Thursday with the U.S. International Trade Commission in its investigation of remanufactured goods, saying nontariff trade barriers are impeding its entry into the remanufacturing business in some developing countries.

The heavy equipment maker asserts the nontariff barriers often block or complicate the import or export of remanufactured finished goods as well as the so-called core material needed to supply the remanufacturing process.
