EU Opts For Duties On Indian Steel Fasteners

Law360, New York (February 13, 2012, 8:24 PM EST) -- European Union regulators announced Saturday that subsidized imports of stainless steel fasteners from India would be slapped with provisional countervailing duties — ranging from 3.2 percent to 16.5 percent — to stave off further damage to European fastener producers.

The European Commission said in the Feb. 11 edition of the Official Journal of the European Union that Agarwal Fasteners Pvt. Ltd. would face an 11.7 percent tariff, Raajratna Ventures Ltd. would face a 13 percent tariff, and cooperating Indian producers Kundan Industries Ltd. and Lakshmi Precision...
