Lawmakers Press FDA To Get Tough On Drug Trial Reporting

Law360, New York (February 14, 2012, 7:27 PM EST) -- Three Democratic lawmakers on Tuesday pressed the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to better enforce laws requiring the public reporting of clinical drug trial results, after a study found that such results had been seriously under-reported.

Results were only reported in 22 percent of clinical drug trials where such reporting was mandatory, according to a study published in January in the British Medical Journal, which looked at trials performed in 2009.
