Obama Calls For Balanced Trade During Chinese VP’s Visit

Law360, New York (February 14, 2012, 6:03 PM EST) -- President Barack Obama told Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping Tuesday that the U.S. would be paying close attention to China's trade policies, as the presumptive new Chinese leader paid a visit to the White House.

Xi, who is expected to become China's president in March 2013, did not respond to Obama's criticism of Chinese trade policy or human rights record during a joint appearance in the Oval Office that was followed by a private meeting.
