Customer Sues Samsung For Faulty Camcorders

Law360, New York (July 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A customer has brought a lawsuit against Samsung Electronics America Inc., alleging it is knowingly selling flawed camcorders, forcing those who buy the devices to pay $150 or more to fix them.

In a lawsuit filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Samsung is accused of ignoring customer complaints that its camcorders with an image sensor device known as a CCD imager prematurely fail and cause a blank or distorted screen.
