Republicans Scoff At Obama's Energy Budget Proposal

Law360, New York (February 16, 2012, 3:17 PM EST) -- Senate Republicans on Thursday slammed President Barack Obama's 2013 energy budget request for disadvantaging the oil and gas industries, claiming the proposal strayed far from the “all of the above” energy strategy called for by the president.

Obama's $27.2 billion proposal for the U.S. Department of Energy would eliminate about $4 billion annually in subsidies and tax preferences for oil and gas companies, while providing $2.3 billion for the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
