American Power, Eaton Settle Patent Litigation Over Power Supply Technology

Law360, New York (March 3, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- American Power Conversion and Eaton Corp. have agreed to settle their patent litigation over technology for uninterruptible power supply topology.

The two companies, which have been litigating in district courts in North Carolina and Delaware, agreed to cross-license multiple patents that were involved in the litigation.

American Power Conversion and Eaton Corp. have also agreed to a ten-year covenant prohibiting the companies from suing each other over patents for electronic hardware that performs double conversion for power electronics.
