3M, Sony Settle Lithium-Ion Battery Patent Suit

Law360 (July 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Only months after it originally filed the infringement suit, 3M Co. has reached a settlement with Sony Corp. and other companies over patents relating to lithium-ion batteries.

Under the new settlement, announced Monday, Sony and its subsidiary, Sony Electronics Inc., are now licensed sources of batteries containing 3M's lithium-ion cathode technology.
