Scientists Lobby EU For New Stem Cell Rules

Law360, New York (July 31, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- European Union stem cell researchers have sent a letter to several members of European Parliament, pleading for an end to the regulatory barriers that prevent them from sharing research with colleagues across member state borders.

Scientists working on two EU-funded stem cell research projects, EuroStemCell and ESTOOLS, sent a joint statement to members of Parliament on Monday, claiming that some member states' laws governing stem cell research are inhibiting their progress.
