MTI Sets £150M Goal For University Tech Spin-Out Fund

Law360, New York (February 16, 2012, 6:46 PM EST) -- U.K. private equity firm MTI Partnership LLP plans to raise £100 million to £150 million ($158 million to $236 million) by year's end to invest in technology companies spun out from Britain’s top universities, the firm’s U.S. managing partner said Thursday.

MTI is partnering with three of the top six U.K. universities in the new Orion Fund, which will focus on commercializing the schools' technology research.
