North Carolina AG Gets Good News In Bid-Rigging Case

Law360, New York (July 31, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- North Carolina's Attorney General is celebrating a victory after a judge ordered an environmental consulting firm to pay more than $350,000 for its alleged involvement in a bid-rigging scheme, bringing the total recovered in the case to $1 million.

In an order issued by Judge Ben F. Tennille, CBM Environmental Services Inc. of Fort Mill, S.C. and its CEO Catherine Ross Bateman have been ordered to pay $350,434 for participating in a plot to rig bids on state contracts to clean up leaks from underground petroleum...
