Trade Deal To Open S. Korean Market For US Goods

Law360, New York (February 21, 2012, 4:37 PM EST) -- A free trade deal between the U.S. and South Korea — which is expected to lower tariffs on hundreds of U.S. exports and support at least 250,000 American jobs — will go into effect March 15, U.S. officials said Tuesday.

The agreement to be implemented next month has faced concerns from legislators and industry groups in both countries — particularly from the automotive sector — that stalled its implementation for nearly five years.
