Judge Rules For Great Lakes Chemical In Atofina Patent Suit

Law360 (March 8, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge in Delaware has ruled in favor of Great Lakes Chemical Corp. in French rival Atofina’s patent lawsuit over an environmentally-safe industrial refrigerant used to cool down high-tech devices.

In a ruling issued February 23, 2005, U.S. District Court Chief Judge Sue Robinson in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware found that Great Lakes' relevant processes and products do not infringe Atofina's patent and that most of the claims of the patent were invalid.
