Garmin Scores Win In Triangle GPS Patent Row

Law360, New York (February 21, 2012, 7:34 PM EST) -- A Virginia federal judge has ruled that two kinds of Garmin International Inc. GPS navigation devices do not infringe five navigation technology patents held by Triangle Software LLC, Garmin announced Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge Claude M. Hilton's Feb. 14 ruling comes in the wake of a partial jury verdict in November, where the jury found that Garmin did not infringe claims for three of the five patents-in-suit but failed to reach a decision with respect to three other patent claims raised by Triangle.
