OFT Chief To Leave Amid UK Antitrust Reorganization

Law360, New York (February 23, 2012, 7:20 PM EST) -- After seven years as chief of the U.K.'s Office of Fair Trading, John Fingleton will step down in as little as six months to allow a new leader to guide the agency through a planned merger with the country's other competition regulator, he announced Thursday.

Fingleton, the OFT's chief executive, said he was pleased with his accomplishments during his seven-year tenure at the agency and that the period was long enough to "achieve sustained change and to allow new leadership to emerge."
